Marked is a story based on Greek Gods. It has larger than life men and courageous women.
Theron is the leader of the Argonauts. His prime motive is to protect the immortal world. He has been raised to believe that survival of his people is the biggest achievement for him. Also, all other races like humans are inferior.
Theron must marry Princess Isadora. The princess has never had strength. It is believed that their marriage will create a show of splendid power. The Princess disappears, and Theron starts looking for her.
Theron finds the most attractive and alluring woman while searching for Isadora. She saves him and helps him regain health. But, she is human. Theron starts dreaming about her. He has to make the most difficult choice. It is his happiness versus the happiness and life of his entire race.
Casey’s death is the key to the life of Theron’s race. She knows she has not lived her life completely. She cannot understand Theron’s dilemma, but she sure find him attractive. She does not know about Theron, nor does she wish to reveal her past to him. Casey is succumbing to ill health, and is soon caught between two worlds.
All the characters of the book are very strong. They come across as very genuine and likeable. Especially the female protagonists are to watch out.
Casey tries to do the right thing even if it costs her life, and even though life has been harsh on her. Her strength of character is commendable. She is more than a match for Theron. Nick is also another character to follow and admire in the book.
There is tantalizing image of the Greek Gods, intrigue, conflict and all things alluring. The secretive characters introduced in the book, their battle with the demons and manipulation by Greek Gods, all make this one an interesting read.
