Is Audible Worth It? Verdict
All in all, I do think Audible’s service is good, but I’d still advise readers to consider other services like Overdrive, Kindle, and Nook. There is a learning curve to be sure, but it can be more convenient and less expensive in the long run.
You’ll only pay if you buy. You don’t get a ‘sneaky’ fee if you cancel the subscription, either – you’ll always be able to download any audiobooks that you’ve already purchased, and that you keep a copy of, to listen to again (rather than having to buy them again).

A pro of using the Audible service is that you don’t have to sign a contract with them. You can cancel your subscription at any time.
If you’ve ever cancelled or changed your mobile service, you’ll know the problems you can face. No matter what, you won’t be able to sign any more contract (even if you wanted to). This means that if you want to move to another mobile service provider, you’ll have to choose a different provider. You won’t be able to keep your existing phone number, or your billing details, either.
With an audible subscription, your mobile number and billing details will remain valid and you can keep your current account if you switch to another provider.
